Best of Guanajuato: Street Food Tour, Drinks, History and Places to Visit! RV Mexico | VivaNewstates

Our favorite city in Mexico so far! We're continuing our RV Mexico adventure to the colonial city of Guanajuato. With help from our friends at GTO Walking Tours, we get the inside scoop on the rich culture (and delicious FOOD!) of this often-overlooked beautiful city in a whirlwind day AND night tour.

Our day guide, John, immediately brought the knowledge and tasty treats as we explored Guanajuato. Being in the same state as the more well known San Miguel de Allende, visitors to Guanajuato benefit from smaller tourist crowds, lower prices, and a much larger city to explore! A UNESCO World Heritage city dating back to 1559, Guanajuato is filled with colonial buildings built alongside and on TOP of an ancient river. The bridges to cross the river eventually became a second floor to the city with buildings on tip, and later full-fledged tunnels that criss-cross and enable people and cars to move around town. We traveled UP and DOWN all over Guanajuato as we sampled local dishes like Acelga Tamales (made with swiss chard!) to keep our energy.

After a pit stop back at the RV to change (we found camping INSIDE Guanajuato to make walking into the city center much easier!), it was time to switch gears and guides. Tim Leffel, founder of GTO Walking Tours, met up with us in front of the famous Teatro Juarez for an evening of tacos, tequila, and fun. We roamed local haunts, tried Pulque, one of the oldest beverages anywhere, and had our fair share of tacos, tequila and sweets!

Built into steep hills, large sections of Guanajuato are only accessible by foot. Remember to take breaks, enjoy a snack or three, and consider a guide to help you navigate!

Our thanks again to John and Tim from gtowalkingtours.com for providing their time, knowledge and sharing a lot of laughs. If that wasn't enough, be sure to stick around for some amazing fire dancing by John at the end of our video!

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

Located 10 miles, or 16 km, south of the US-Mexico border, Rosarito is a coastal city in Baja California situated on the Pacific Coast of Mexico.
This beach town has a long-standing reputation of wild parties, delicious seafood, stunning beach views and stellar surfing.
Since it’s just a short drive from the US, if you are making a trip to San Diego, you should seriously consider spending a day or 3 in Rosarito.
We decided to skip the hotels and go camping along the beautiful Baja shores.
While Rosarito is mostly known for its huge extravagant parties and nightlife, we found many activities outside the bar scene... AND some great places to eat.
We are also going to show you the Devil's House!
Are you ready to go check out Rosarito? Then let’s get started!

¿Qué comen los Mexicanos 🇲🇽 realmente? 🤨

Te invito a SUSCRIBIRTE EN EL CANAL.
