Summer drive Kovačica - Zrenjanin - Žabalj
It was a small road trip to Pivnice, but my battery gave up somewhere near Žabalj. Nice day, clear roads, excellent conditions overall. Most of the journey in this video takes place between Kovačica and Zrenjanin.
Zrenjanin (Serbian Cyrillic: Зрењанин, pronounced [zrɛ̌ɲanin]; Hungarian: Nagybecskerek; Romanian: Becicherecu Mare; Slovak: Zreňanin; German: Großbetschkerek) is a city and the administrative center of the Central Banat District in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The city's urban area has a population of 76,511 inhabitants, while the administrative area has 123,362 inhabitants (2011 census data). The old name for Zrenjanin is Veliki Bečkerek or Nagybecskerek, as it was known under Austria-Hungary until 1918. Zrenjanin is the largest city in the Serbian part of the Banat geographical region and the third largest city in Vojvodina (after Novi Sad and Subotica). The city was designated a European city of sport.
Jezero Crepaja - Crepaja Lake, Crepaja, Serbia
U Crepaji kod Kovačice je krajem 2018. godine zvanično pušten u rad „Crepajački ekološki vrt Jezero“. Grupa entuzijasta je prostor na kojem je od ranije postojalo malo jezero, uredila prostor i privela ga nameni za pecanje. Napravljeno je i još jedno veštačko jezero koje se koristi za kupanje. U okviru kompleksa se nalazi i kafe-bar, kao i prostor na kojem posetioci mogu da roštiljaju. Prelepo mesto za odmor, ovde možete očekivati rode, kornjače i žabe koje kreketom zamenjuju muziku.
Udruženje građana Ekološki vrt Jezero u Crepaji okuplja zaljubljenike u prirodu.
Nekada na sadašnjem prostoru jezera u Crepaji je bila ciglana. A onda se rodila ideja da se prostor oplemeni, uredi i pripitomi. Danas je to nezaobilazna destinacija za odmor, uživanje i rekreaciju. Udruženje građana Ekološki vrt Crepaja brine se o ovom prostoru i ugošćava ljubitelje prirode ne samo iz opštine Kovačica, već i šire.
Opština Kovačica i mesna zajednica Crepaja imale su sluha za planove ovog udruženja koje je ponudilo da se uređenjem stane na put nesavesnim pojedincima koji su na tlu današnjeg jezera nekada bacali otpad koji bi se često i upalio, a vetar je nanosio sve na selo.
Prostor je dugo čišćen, a nakon toga i poribljen. Mesto je danas idealno za boravak u prirodi porodica sa decom, jer postoji dečje igralište, ribnjak u kojem možete da pecate, ali i jezero u kojem možete da se okupate, sve prilagođeno za bezbedan i opuštajući izlet.
In Crepaja near Kovačica, at the end of 2018, the Crepaja ecological garden Jezero was officially put into operation.
A group of enthusiasts took the area where there was a small lake before, arranged the area and made it suitable for fishing. Another artificial lake was created, which is used for swimming. Within the complex there is also a cafe-bar, as well as an area where visitors can barbecue. A beautiful place to rest, here you can expect storks, turtles and frogs that replace the music with crickets.
The citizens' association Ecological Garden Jezero in Crepaja gathers nature lovers.
There used to be a brick factory on the current area of the lake in Crepaja. And then the idea was born to refine, arrange and tame the space. Today it is an indispensable destination for rest, enjoyment and recreation. The Citizens' Association Ecological Garden Crepaja takes care of this area and welcomes nature lovers not only from the municipality of Kovačica, but also beyond.
The municipality of Kovačica and the local community of Crepaja heard about the plans of this association, which offered to stand in the way of unscrupulous individuals who used to throw waste on the ground of today's lake, which would often catch fire, and the wind carried everything to the village. The space was cleaned for a long time, and then stocked. Today, the place is ideal for families with children to stay in nature, because there is a children's playground, a pond where you can fish, and a lake where you can swim, all adapted for a safe and relaxing trip.

Strange as it may sound, this movie starts right where the previous one has ended. ;) From near a place called Jabuka (Apple), through Crepaja (the official goal of this public ride), all the way to Kovačica. You'll see many flat and completely straight roads, many cyclists, some horses, two churches, one tram/train, one school, a great park and - icecream! And, by popular demand, more of that deep conversation most of the way! Obviously, not to be missed.
But seriously, this was a really great public ride and I'm happy it takes place every year. There are more nice things in Kovačica I have yet to discover. Feel free to join!

Now, I know it's a number 69 but it really isn't what you think. ;) It's another public ride (one more left), another great adventure and another personal best broken. Oh, and another new destination as this was my first real venture into Vojvodina region. Best known (among cyclists) for being flat. And I do mean flat (Fruška Gora excluded). Still, there's so much more to it as you'll realise once I... Hehe, spoilers... (as River Song would say)
So, a public event which worked perfectly well. Except for not going to Kovačica. ;) And I must point out the best police work I've ever seen (motorcycle unit). Incredible. More on that in the movie. Also, as promised, you'll have a rare opportunity to listen to us talking almost the entire time! And such useful stuff, you won't believe. And all for free! Is this the best channel or what? ;)
Oh, apart from great police work, great stories, beautiful landscapes and some (great) tips, you will also see the Pančevo bridge over Danube river, learn some history and how to get from Belgrade to Pančevo on bike almost the legal way. So, don't waste another moment, grab some popcorns, sit back and enjoy the ride! It'll feel like doing the hard work yourself. Only, with absolutely no effect whatsoever. ;)
