Visit Tri-Cities: Inside Tips on What to See and Do in the Tri-Cities
What to do in the Tri-Cities!🍷🚴🏼♂️☀️ | Local Lens Seattle
300 sun-filled days☀️- say no more. Welcome to the Tri-Cities- Kennewick, Pasco, Richland- just three hours from Seattle in Washington.
If you are looking for a vacation destination, add this one to your shortlist📍. There's so much to do, from wineries🍷 to kayaking🚣🏻♀️ and hiking. And did I mention amazing food?!
I got to go with one of my fave co-workers, Amity Adrissi of New Day Northwest, for a jam-packed weekend. We are calling it a cross-over event 😊
We did everything from riding electric bikes🚴🏼♂️ to wineries🍷, from kayaking down the Yakima River to axe throwing🪓 downtown.
Amity and I started our weekend in Richland, riding along the Columbia River on the Richland Riverfront Trail.
We rented through Pedego, an awesome locally owned business where they truly treat you like family. The employees were so knowledgeable and patient as we learned how to ride the electric bikes. (It was both of our first times.)
🚴🏼♂️You can learn more about renting here🚴🏼♂️:
The Tri-Cities boasts more than 200 wineries🍷 within a one-hour radius, producing some of the finest wines in the country. The wineries range in size from ones producing over a half million cases of wine annually to small independent wineries. But everywhere you look, there are award-winning wines.
The wineries we stopped by:
Columbia Gardens Urban Wine + Artisan Village
Address: 421 E. Columbia Dr., Bldg. A Kennewick, WA 99336
Muret-Gaston Winery
Address: 313 E. Columbia Gardens Way, Suite 120 Kennewick, WA 99336
For food I'd recommend the following:
• Monarcha/Palencia Wine Co., where we enjoyed a tasting lunch
• Dovetail Joint
• Drumheller’s Food and Drink- In The Lodge at Columbia Point
Since the Tri-Cities is known for great weather, there’s no shortage of outdoor activities. There are three rivers in the area where you can fish, float, bike, hike, or stroll.
The lower Yakima River is narrow, shallow, and intimate. You get close to the surroundings and wildlife and see few motorized boats. We did a guided three-hour cruise thanks to Tapteal Greenway. We met some great locals and rented kayaks from ‘Kayak Bateman Island.
It's located at 2699 N Columbia Center Boulevard in Kennewick. Visit here for more info:
We wrapped up our last day with axe throwing at ‘Hebers Hatchets.’ We tried to stay sharp in some friendly target practice. Full disclosure- I was not good at all and never quite found the bull's eye. Still a blast!
To secure your spot:
I can’t wait to come back and do even more. I feel like a weekend wasn’t enough to experience all that the Tri-Cities has to offer. Horseback riding wine tours are next on my list!
Shout out to Amity for joining me on this Local Lens! So fun to have a buddy to experience it all with.

Washington's Best Place To Live is Tri-Cities on The Columbia River...in 4k!
Come along for a relaxing eight minutes of our exciting adventure to the Tri-Cities region in the State of Washington, an area rich in Native American history and once explored first by Lewis and Clark, where the confluence of water from three great rivers, the Yakima, Snake and Columbia, flow to a final destination in the Pacific Ocean.
In this video, I capture just a few of the wonderful experiences we had as Michelle and I are beginning to consider great American destinations for our future retirement. I believe these cities, Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland, along with a few other outer cities, offer everything one could want in a place to live: Beautiful weather, beautiful people, delicious locally grown food, and an abundance of activities that will assure we never get bored. Local farmers grow the food for the local grocery stores. And wineries, as well as microbreweries, will insure we always enjoy a fine libation. There were too many eclectic coffee shops and bakeries to count, but the best part was the warmness of the people. Everybody was open and friendly wherever we found ourselves.
Watch as I highlight these 10 places and activities in our short three day stay:
1. Clover Island and the Clover Island Lighthouse
2. The Cable (Ed Hendler) and Pioneer Memorial Bridges
3. The Columbia and Snake Rivers
4. The Twin Sisters hiking area along The Columbia River
5. Trains across and Boats along the river
6. Geese and sights in Sacajawea Historical State Park
7. Hiking up Candy and Badger Mountains
8. The Tagaris Winery
9. The Columbia Point Marina
10. A Dinner cruise on the Water2Wine Cruise Boat up the Columbia River
We really had a great time and I think you would love this part of America for a visit or even a new home. The beauty of the area and its people surpassed our highest expectations. I'd like to send out a special thanks to my new friends, Jim and Kellyn Zimmerlin, for their wonderful hospitality. Jim Zim, as he calls himself on his channel, has a highly successful YouTube channel with top notch cruise reviews and much more. I'll throw a link to his channel and many of the places we ventured during our trip. I hope you'll leave a comment and a like, but most of all, consider subscribing for more content as well as new music I'm always working on.
Finally...We stayed at the Best Western Premier in Pasco. I highly recommend them. They have a fantastic free breakfast, clean facility, and 24 hour pool, hot tub, sauna and workout rooms. It was simply an awesome stay!

Tri Cities Washington Aerial Video - Richland, Kennewick, Pasco
Here's a compilation of beautiful aerial drone video shots I've taken of the Tri Cities of Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco along the Columbia River in Southeastern Washington state.
I am a licensed commercial drone pilot and shot these with a DJI Mavic Mini drone. Featured prominently in the video are many beautiful views of the Columbia River, including all the bridges that span the river in the tri-cities area... such as the cable bridge (officially known as the Ed Hendler bridge), the Blue Bridge, and many shots of boaters enjoying a day on the river.
For those not familiar with the Tri Cities...
It is located where the Yakima River and the Snake River merge up with the Columbia River in southeast Washington. Because this is far to the east of the Cascade mountain range, the weather here is much more favorable than the wet part of Washington that you probably think of (Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, etc.) on the west side of the state. Average annual rainfall in the Tri Cities is only 8 inches per year... compared to 37 inches in Seattle! Yet there is abundant water available for use by Tri Cities residents, with approximately 90 million gallons of water flowing through this part of the Columbia River every minute! By volume, it's the fifth largest river in the United States.
I've been visiting the Tri-Cities since my sister moved here in the late 1970s, and I finally had a home built for me and moved here in September of 2020.
The music used in this video is called Let's Go Home by Jeremy Blake.
