Ford Island and Hickam AFB | Exploring Pearl Harbor
Day 3 on Oahu took us back to Pearl Harbor. We spent the day visiting the Punchbowl Cemetery and then exploring Ford Island and Hickam Air Force Base. It was incredible to see all of the history of Pearl Harbor in person. After an amazing day, we spent the evening relaxing at the beach back at Bellows AFS. Oahu, you were incredible. We can't wait to come back. Three days was not nearly enough time.

This video is an overview of my recent two-day military space-a trip to Oahu Hawaii. I stayed at the Royal Alaika'i Inn on the Hickam side of Joint Base Pearl Harbor, Hickam AFB. We traveled around the island and spent time in downtown Honolulu, Bellows Air Station Beach, Waikiki Beach among other great locations. This video gives you a clearer picture of what Bellows Air Station Beach is about and why I think it is one of the best beaches in the world.

The new reservation system through recreation.gov is a little tricky to navigate and the instructions on how to actually get onto the boat to visit the memorial are a little unclear. So today, we thought it would be helpful to walk you through how and when to reserve your spot online, where to actually go once you get to Pearl Harbor, and what to do while there. We hope this is helpful--as we learned a lot that day! Most importantly: reserve your spots early and show up early!
