Groningen, Suriname (2/3) [22-1-2012]
Een serie over de relatie tussen het Surinaamse en het Nederlandse Groningen. In dit tweede deel de boerenfamilie Tammenga die nu in het Surinaamse Groningen woont en werkt. Verder vertelt presentator Beno Hofman over de dramatisch verlopen kolonisatie, waarbij vooral aan de andere kant van de Saramaccarivier Nederlanders kwamen te wonen in het in 1791 als melaatsen-kolonie gestichte Voorzorg. Kolonisatie door vrije negers was daar in de jaren dertig al mislukt en in 1845 gebeurde hetzelfde: men werd ziek en stierf massaal. Na verhuizing naar Groningen ging het iets beter.
