Porto Region, Portugal | City of Porto, Matosinhos, Gondomar, Valongu | Drone 4k video | Porto
Porto Region, Portugal. A 4K drone video shows Porto, Portugal's multi-faceted region. You can see the picturesque landscapes and the historical center from a bird's eye view in this video review.
general information
Porto District is located in Northern Portugal. It consists of 18 municipalities with almost 2 million inhabitants. In the West, it is washed by the Atlantic Ocean, which sets the general climate in the area.
Capital
The administrative center of the district is the city of the same name, Porto.
Nature
The area is not heavily populated, so the nature here is special. The area is quite hilly, so there are plenty of beautiful places framed by greenery. Small forests, through which small rivers make their way, are distinguished by the transparency of the water, so outdoor activities filled with beautiful landscapes are guaranteed in the area.
Main cities: Porto, Matosinhos, Gondomar, Valongu
Porto is located at the mouth of the Douro River, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The city is famous for its gastronomy; the best restaurants in Portugal are located here. Its image is made up of a labyrinth of narrow and winding streets with houses of bright colors, lively and friendly. In the heart of the city, you can touch medieval relics built on ancient Roman foundations. The town is relatively small, its population is just over 200 thousand inhabitants.
Matosinhos is an industrial port city north of Porto. However, its center is not replete with concrete industrial buildings, it is rather a calm and poor province. Despite some dilapidation of historical buildings, the true Portuguese flavor can be felt here, where visitors and tourists are not hunted. Here life goes on as usual.
Gondomar is quite small, its population is just over 170 thousand inhabitants. The city lies on the right bank of the Douro River. Among the architectural treasures of the city are magnificent baroque churches and an 18th-century manor with a delightful flowering garden. For people with a historical or scientific interest, Gondomar has a forest suitable for secluded walks along the ridges of the mountains.
Valongu is not rich in old buildings with interesting architecture. Basically, the city is famous for slate mining, there is even a slate museum here. Exploring the city during a horseback ride is one of the most popular entertainment for tourists and residents.
What to watch?
First of all, you should definitely go on a tour of the Duro River Valley, which is rich in vineyards. If you are planning a trip on your own, it is better to book a wine tasting in advance, because Portugal produces some of the best wines of the Old World. Turnkey tours from travel companies usually already include a tasting. Also popular is boating in the silence and tranquility of the river with views of the hills immersed in greenery.
In Matosinhos there is a unique opportunity to try your hand at surfing. Catching waves on the board is not easy, but very exciting.
But surfing is not the only sporting activity in the area. In the Gerês National Park, you can go kayaking and swimming in clear waters. Or you can go hiking in the beauties of the hilly area. By the way, kayaking is also popular in other parts of the district. For example, along the quiet Lima River, which is located in the shade of sprawling trees in Guimarães.
An off-road buggy ride around Porto will be a fun adventure. An adrenaline rush is guaranteed.
Attractions
If we talk about less active tourism, then the Baroque church of Clerigos in Porto is definitely worth a visit. Of particular note is the innovative multimedia show Spiritus, which will leave unforgettable emotions.
The neoclassical Palacio da Bolsa building, located in the heart of Porto, is considered one of the country's most important monuments. Hosting many statesmen on its territory for two centuries, the palace rightfully deserves attention. Great architects, artists and sculptors had a hand in its construction. It is rather difficult to explore the palace on your own, so it is recommended to visit the Palacio as part of an excursion group.
Portugal was once famous for its pioneers. You can see the world through their eyes at the World of Discoveries global exhibition located in Porto. The Middle Ages and the world that existed at that time around are authentically reproduced here.

Porto Bölgesi, Portekiz. 4K drone videosu, Portekiz'in çok yönlü bölgesi Porto'yu gösteriyor.
Porto'da düzenlenen World of Discoveries küresel sergisinde dünyayı onların gözünden görebilirsiniz.

PORTO - Portugal Travel Guide | Around The World
Porto is a busy industrial and commercial centre. The city itself isn't very populous (about 300,000 inhabitants), but the Porto metropolitan area (Greater Porto) has some 2,500,000 inhabitants in a 50km radius, with cities like Gaia, Matosinhos, Maia, and Gondomar.
The city was built along the hills overlooking the Douro river estuary, and its historical center was awarded World Heritage status by UNESCO in 1996. It has been continuously inhabited since at least the 4th Century, when the Romans referred to it as Portus Calle
Porto has a semi-Mediterranean climate, although it's strongly affected by the Atlantic ocean, which makes it cooler than other cities with this climate. However, temperatures can rise as high as 40ºC in August during occasional heat waves. Winters are mild and humid, with occasional cold nights where temperatures can drop below 0ºC.
Porto has always been a mercantile city, and this is evident in the style of the buildings lining the Avenida dos Aliados, the core of the downtown area. The center of town, unlike other major Portuguese cities, which tend towards the baroque, is granite and monumental. Residents of Porto are known as Tripeiros (tripe eaters) due to the fact that the city went without meat in order to provision the capital and the fleet that departed to Ceuta in 1415, had to subsist on tripe stew, still a speciality of the city.
Citizens of Porto hold themselves apart culturally from the South of the country, mainly Lisbon region, as is expressed in the often heard phrase o Porto é uma nação (Porto is a nation). This is due to the centralisation of government decisions in Lisbon, which the inhabitants understand it is not always fair for the North and Porto especially. They often say Porto works, Braga Prays, Coimbra studies, and Lisbon gets the money.
Outsiders used to often consider Porto to be more crass and mercantile than the rest of the country, due to the lack of rehabilitation the city urgently needed. Although, in past three years Porto, suffered a major reconstruction and now as a more clean and pleasant feeling, attracting many new visitors. Its inhabitants may have a more harsh first impression but they are known for being very nice, accessible and will help you with anything they can.
The city is officially styled a muito nobre, sempre leal e invicta cidade do Porto (the very noble, always faithful, and invincible city of Porto). This is usually shortened to a Cidade Invicta (the invincible city) a title won because of Porto's resistance to the Cerco do Porto (Porto's Siege) during the 1832-34 civil war.
The city is quite varied architecturally, with medieval as well as modern living side by side. Porto's geography is hard on the feet, but pleasant to the eye. The city is extremely hilly, with many buildings built into a cliff face that overlooks the river. Stairs cut into the stone run up and down the cliff face and offer a laborious but rewarding walking tour. Across the river from Porto proper, in the suburb of Gaia, are located the warehouses of notable companies dealing with Port Wine, such as Cálem, Fonseca, Sandemans, Kopke, and others.
Whilst the local attitude is friendly, to outsiders it is worth noting that locals can respond literally to questions, which may seem slightly off-putting to the uninitiated. An example of this would be to ask in a bar if they have a menu (for food) and to receive a straight 'no' as a response; it's after further questions that one can find out that the establishment doesn't sell food - such a response is not considered rude, it is merely direct and literal.
If you speak in Spanish to a local, you will be largely understood and as a rule they will freely converse with you, but from time to time, more so with the older generation, you may be politely reminded that you are in Portugal and the native language is Portuguese.
Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, (IATA: OPO), Pedras Rubras, Maia +351 229 432 400, . Also known as Aeroporto do Porto or Aeroporto de Pedras Rubras this is the third busiest airport in the country and is about 15km from the city centre.
The city is served by two major train stations, the São Bento (Saint Benedict) station, and the Campanhã station. Trains from and to Madrid (Lusitânia Comboio Hotel) and Paris (Sud-Expresso) are regular.

Principales villes : Porto, Matosinhos, Gondomar, Valongu

Llegada a Gondomar

Margens do Rio Douro - Portugal

Porto Travel Guide - Portugal Happy Moments
Porto Travel Guide - Portugal Happy Moments
Porto is Portugal's second largest city and the capital of the Northern region.
Since the beginning of the century the city has been going through a major reconstruction and now has a more clean and pleasant feeling, attracting many new visitors.
Across the river from Porto proper, in the suburb of Gaia, are located the warehouses of notable companies dealing with Port Wine, such as Cálem, Fonseca, Sandeman, Kopke, and others. If you speak in Spanish to a local, you will be largely understood and as a rule they will freely converse with you, but from time to time, more so with the older generation, you may be politely reminded that you are in Portugal and the native language is Portuguese.
