Enjoy the great outdoors. Gardiner is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, so it's no surprise that one of the best things to do here is to get outside and enjoy it. There are plenty of hiking and fishing opportunities in the area and rafting and kayaking on the Yellowstone River.
Visit the local museums and historical sites. Gardiner is home to several excellent museums and historical sites, including the Yellowstone Heritage and Research Center, which houses an extensive collection of artifacts from the park's early days. Here's our list of where to stay in Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone is huge, and can be quite crowded! There are a number of hotels within the park ($$$$) and there are some small towns (Gardiner, MT and West Yellowstone, Montana) on the outskirts of the park that are worth checking out as well. Here's the one thing about Yellowstone though, you don't want to go without a plan!
Please note, that we made a mistake when making this video. West Yellowstone is in MONTANA not in Idaho. It is 13 miles from the Idaho border and on the West side of the Yellowstone park. Here are some hotel options in West Yellowstone, Montana.
