Turkmenistan, this video is about my first impression about a country, I frankly didn't even know that it existed, before I started to plan this trip.

The long Road is a journey from Germany all the way to Nepal, through the middle east, following the old silk road, China, South-East Asia and India. The whole journey will be overland (no planes, UFOs or portals) and put together into short videos on this channel :)

Part 125 - Crossing the border to Uzbekistan - World Cycle Tour - 2018
Saturday 14th July.
Crossing the border to Uzbekistan.
We left Mary and crossed the desert to Turkmenabat. After lunch in a Silk Road restaurant we continued to the Farap Uzbekistan border. The crossing went smoothly with friendly border guards on both sides.
Then it was time to start cycling again. Only 20km but in the afternoon desert heat, it was hard work. We stopped many times and eventually found some shade under a tree. After a rest to cool down we continued and the last part of the ride was much more comfortable as the evening progressed.
We are staying in a hotel in a small town. We will rest here tomorrow before making an early start for Bukhara on Monday.
