Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland | City of Olsztyn, Elblag, Elk, Ostroda | Drone 4k video
Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland. Health-improving rest is useful for all people, but where to spend it qualitatively is a question that worries many. But, there is a wonderful country of Poland, where there are many resorts, sanatoriums for high-quality treatment and rehabilitation. Just such a place is the Warmino-Masurian Voivodeship, and a video review was made about it. Beautiful landscapes, iconic places are visible from a bird's eye view, shot from a drone in high quality (4K), this allows you to visually get acquainted with the sights.
general information
Warmino-Mazury Voivodeship is a land of forests and lakes, located in the northern part of the country, bordering Russia, I rightly call it the “green lungs of the country”, for a huge number of clean water bodies and a rich flora. In principle, the region is considered one of the poorest in Poland, the economy is only developed in animal husbandry and crop production and a little tourism.
Capital
The capital of the voivodship is Olsztyn, a green, ecologically clean city, washed by eleven lakes, which is ideal to visit in the spring and summer. Indeed, due to the length of the city, all the sights are far from each other, and the best way would be to ride a bike or an eco bus. The most important assets of the city are the Old Town and the Olsztyn Cathedral, which are over 600 years old. Olsztyn is also a city of happy people, and quite comfortable for life and work.
Nature (landscapes, beautiful places)
Most of Varmin is located on a flat-hilly territory, with a large number of reservoirs. There are about 2,700 lakes in the voivodship, and the most famous are the Masurian, full-flowing ones, and around there are a huge number of peat bogs, plowed land and meadows. In the vicinity of the Masurian Lake District, rye and potatoes are grown. In the voivodship there is a well-known water canal in Poland - Ostrudo-Elblagsky (82 km), and the largest lake Sniardwy.
The region is rich in forests, where there are bison, swans, as well as an endangered species of turtle (European marsh).
Main cities: Olsztyn, Elbląg, Elk, Kadyny, Ostróda
Olsztyn is the capital of the province, a beautiful city with Gothic architecture, as well as many water channels and lakes, bicycle paths for walking.
Elbląg - the town is famous for its Gothic castles, churches, as well as the only Teutonic castle, which has partially survived to this day.
Elk - It is believed that this is the capital of Masuria, located on the shores of Lake Elk, which was formed by a glacier. Quite large and densely populated, its main attraction is natural sites and the opportunity to go hunting.
Kadyny is a beautiful city with clean, fresh air, its main asset is the Kadyny Country Club hotel (located in a former palace). An ideal place to spend a weekend by the lake, as well as visiting the neighboring Elbląg.
Ostróda is the pearl of Mazury, a city where cycling and water tourism are actively developed. The main attraction is Lake Drwiecke, along which a beautiful embankment is built with many cafes, restaurants, as well as the historic Ostród Castle.
What to watch
When visiting Warmino-Masuria Voivodeship, you should definitely plan a visit to Warmia Termy, the first thermal spa offering treatments and cosmetics made from natural products, thermal water and therapeutic mud.
The Elblągsko-Ostródzki Canal is not only a beautiful tourist spot, but also an important canal where ships ply and are towed on special wagons that were designed back in the 19th century. The canal connects Elbląg and Ostróda and is considered a hydrographic monument.
The family crypt in Rapa, Hitler's bunkers in the forests of the town of Kentishin, and of course visit the famous place where Nicolaus Copernicus wrote his work On the rotation of celestial bodies - the city of Frobork.
Attractions
Among the main attractions that tourists can visit while visiting the region are:
Cathedral of St. Jacob;
Castle-fortress in Lidzbark-Warminsky;
Olsztyn Old Town with castles and Old Town Hall;
Olsztyn Planetarium;
Reserve of water birds on Lake Druzhno;
St. Lipka Cathedral in Kętrzyn;
Water parks and water parks located in Elblag, Gerloz, Mikolajki.

Koniec XIX i początek XX wieku to okres dynamicznego rozwoju miasta.

Elbląg is a city in northern Poland on the eastern edge of the Żuławy region with 118,582 inhabitants (December 2020). It is the capital of Elbląg County and has been assigned (since 1999) to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Previously it was the capital of Elbląg Voivodeship (1975–1998) and a county seat within Gdańsk Voivodeship (1945–1975).
Elbląg is one of the oldest cities in the province. Its history dates back to 1237, when the Teutonic Order constructed their fortified stronghold on the banks of a nearby river. The castle subsequently served as the official seat of the Teutonic Order Masters.
Elbląg became part of the Hanseatic League, which contributed much to the city's wealth. Through the Hansa agreement, the city was linked to other major ports like Gdańsk, Lübeck and Amsterdam. Elbląg joined Poland in 1454 and after the defeat of the Teutonic Knights in the Thirteen Years’ War was recognized as part of Poland in the Second Peace of Thorn in 1466. It then flourished and turned into a significant trading point, but its growth was eventually hindered by the Second Northern War and the Swedish Deluge.
The city was transferred to Prussia after the first partition of Poland in 1772. Its trading role greatly weakened, until the era of industrialization, which occurred in the 19th century. It was then that the famous Elbląg Canal was commissioned.
After World War II the city again became part of Poland. The war casualties were catastrophic, especially the severe destruction of the Old Town district, one of the grandest in East Prussia.
Today, Elbląg has over 120,000 inhabitants and is a vibrant city with an attractive tourist base. It serves as an academic and financial center and among its numerous historic monuments is the Market Gate from 1309 and St. Nicholas Cathedral. Elbląg is also known for its archaeological sites, museums and the largest brewery in the country.
The Elbląg Canal, built in 1825–44 under Prussia, is a tourist site of Elbląg. The canal is believed to be one of the most important monuments related to the history of engineering and has been named one of the Seven Wonders of Poland. The canal was also named one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii) in 2011. Its listing is maintained by the National Heritage Board of Poland.
And like you expect it, the clips are filmed in 4K HDR (60fps) resolution!
All clips were rendered with Final Cut Pro X.

🇵🇱 Stare Miasto w Elblągu - niesamowite spotkanie z odbudowanym Starym Miastem | Starówka Elbląska
Elbląg Old Town (Stare Miasto) - where all former beauty has been restored after the devastation the city suffered in the Second World War.
Elbląg is a city in northern Poland, assigned to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
There’s so much to see and do when you visit Elbląg:
1. Climb up the Market Gate Tower (Brama Targowa) - The Market Gate (Brama Targowa) is the only surviving part of the old defensive walls surrounding Elbląg. Climb up to the top to catch some panoramic views of Elbląg
2. Visit the Museum of Archaeology and History - The museum houses fascinating exhibits from various archaeological sites. Areas excavated include the Old Town in Elbląg and Truso – the former Viking trade settlement
3. Walk down “Church Path” (Ścieżka kościelna) - Check out this narrow passage between tenement houses. The purpose of the path was to connect three churches of the Old Town. Part of the church path leading from St. Nicholas Cathedral to the convent of the Virgin Mary was destroyed. Only this section linking Ulica Ducha Świętego (Holy Spirit Street) and Mostowa Streets survived
4. Visit St. Nicholas Cathedral
5. In the summer months, you might be lucky to catch the outdoor exhibition on the revitalisation of Elbląg
6. Walk down Old Market Street (Ulica Stary Rynek) - the heart of Elbląg Old Town
All in all, if you’re staying in Gdańsk for a longer time, and have wheels, Elbląg is just a 45-minute drive away.

Gdynia Poland in summer | Attractions and Sightseeing
Gdynia is one of the youngest Polish cities on the Baltic coast of the country. As part of the of the tricity area with Gdansk and Sopot fewer tourists visit Gdynia yet the city plays an important role as one of Poland’s major seaports.
We had some great weather today and went to see the attractions in Gdynia, Poland. Gdynia is a port city with many ships to see, great restaurants all around with fresh fish and relaxing atmosphere.
🇵🇱 Day Trips from Gdańsk: Two Cracking Cities and a Famous Seaside Resort
If you’re thinking about taking a day trip from Gdańsk, you’re in the right place.
With excellent rail links to other resorts on the Polish coast, as well as charming towns and cities in the north of Poland, there’s an abundance of places to visit for a day from the Capital of Amber that is Gdańsk.
First up is Sopot - Poland’s most famous seaside resort. Sopot is just a 20-minute train ride away from Gdańsk. We bring to you clips from both summertime and wintertime. When the weather is right, Sopot can also get busy in the winter.
Second in line is Elbląg. A city in the Warmian-Masurian region, Elbląg has many popular attractions including the Market Gate, St. Nicholas Cathedral and the Museum of Archeology and History. On the particular day we visited Elbląg, we were fortunate to witness “Elbląg 1710” - a reconstructive event and reenactment about Elbląg’s fate during the Great Northern War.
Finally, we have Bydgoszcz. The city of Bydgoszcz can be reached in around 1 hour and 25 minutes from Gdansk, using the PKP Intercity train service. The fastest connection takes 1 hour and 19 minutes. With a city population of around 339,000 inhabitants and an urban agglomeration with more than 470,000, Bydgoszcz is the eighth-largest city in Poland. It is the co-capital of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, along with Toruń.
Bydgoszcz is an architecturally rich city, with gothic, neo-gothic, neo-baroque, neoclassicist, modernist and Art Nouveau styles present. The notable granaries on Mill Island and along the riverside belong to one of the most recognised timber-framed landmarks in Poland.
