⭐ About Postcard & A Pint:
Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint YouTube channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. It's just a bit of fun, and great for our sanity. Your support is hugely appreciated x

10 Best Villages to Live in Wales
What are the best villages to live in Wales? Living as some people are doing, in any part of the United Kingdom has already insulated you from certain challenges in some terrible parts of the world. This is important to be borne in mind for anyone living in any of the villages in the country. For reasons bordering on peace and tranquility, some of our lovers love living in Wales. However, it’s puzzling to some that these people are not particularly focusing on cities like Cardiff. Rather, they love villages in Wales. Are there villages you too might love to consider as a home in Wales? We are affirmative in our answer, and we have proofs for this in this video about the 10 best villages to live in Wales.
10. St Fagans, Cardiff
We begin with St Fagans, an affluent village on the outskirts of the city of Cardiff known for St Fagans Castle. It’s a picturesque village where you can discover the depth of richness of Welsh history and culture, taking you on a trip back in time to the Wales of old. St Fagans is just a short jaunt from the hubbub of the capital. It’s just about a 20-minute drive down the A roads right from the heart of Cardiff. You’re certain to have a hint of Welsh heritage through the ages and enjoy a recreation of a 19th-century mining terrace.
9. Solva, Pembrokeshire
Next is Solva, a lovely fishing village in Pembrokeshire. Living in this pint-sized village, you can simply walk and wander on the coast north of St Bride’s Bay. As the tide washes in and out, the character of the village takes on different appearances. When the water is high, it’s felt around the quaysides and the pubs. And when it’s low, a muddy estuary is revealed filled with crawling crabs and fishing skiffs.
The village is nice for photos and is a good place for adventure as you take scenic walks around the village. The bracing sea treks are unrivaled as the path wiggles to the east and west. You can also find the hidden sands of Porthmynawyd Beach.
8. Beddgelert, Gwynedd
Beddgelert is the first of the villages in Gwynedd to be mentioned here. Located in the northwest county of Gwynedd at the point of convergence of the Colwan and Glaslyn rivers, Beddgelert’s idyllic setting gives you a taste of what living in a charming scene is all about. Your days and those of your visitors would be filled with the desire for selfies as you take a walk, hike, or engage in other outdoor activities on mountains and other stunning views as part of your daily activities. You can even get to see the central place in the famous folklore legend of Gelert the dog.
7. Portmeirion, Gwynedd
If you are ever grateful to the British architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, the curious creator of this village, you would love Portmeirion as one of the nicest villages to live in Wales. This Gwynedd village of follies and odes was forged to highlight all sorts of architectural styles in the heart of the borough between 1925 and the 1970s. At the village’s central piazza, there are Italianate mansions mingling with gothic towers and European baroque façades. Not far from there are arboretums of palm trees and pines.

Places to see in ( Denbigh - UK )
Denbigh is a market town and community in Denbighshire, Wales, of which it was formerly the county town. Denbigh lies 8 miles to the north west of Ruthin and to the south of St Asaph. The town grew around the glove-making industry.
The first borough charter was granted to Denbigh in 1290, when the town was still contained within the old town walls. It was the centre of the Marcher Lordship of Denbigh. The town was involved in the revolt of Madog ap Llywelyn in 1294-95; the castle was captured in the autumn, and on 11 November 1294 a relieving force was defeated by the Welsh rebels. The town was recaptured by Edward I in December. Denbigh was also burnt in 1400 during the revolt of Owain Glyndŵr.
Notable buildings in Denbigh include Denbigh Castle, the town walls begun in 1282 including the Burgess Gate and Leicester's Church. This is an unfinished church begun in 1579 by Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester, who was also Baron of Denbigh. It was planned as a cathedral with the title of city to be transferred from neighbouring St. Asaph. The project ran out of money and the grounds now lie derelict.
Denbigh was once served by a railway station on the former London and North Western Railway, later part of the LMS. The Vale of Clwyd line leading north to St. Asaph and Rhyl closed in 1955, leaving Denbigh on a lengthy branch running from Chester via Mold and Denbigh to Ruthin, which closed in 1962. A southern continuation beyond Ruthin linking up with the Great Western Railway at Corwen had closed in 1952. The platform of Denbigh station can still be seen beside the road leading to the Home Bargains store.
Attractions in the town include a library and museum. Denbigh Boxing Club is located on Middle Lane. Denbigh Cricket Club is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Wales having been established in 1844. The club plays at the Ystrad Road ground and plays in the North Wales Cricket League.
( Denbigh - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Denbigh . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Denbigh - UK

Denbigh Castle - Wales UK
Denbigh Castle - Wales UK
Denbigh Castle still wasn’t complete when Henry de Lacy died in 1311. The great gatehouse probably never did receive its planned turrets or final storey.
Perhaps he just didn’t have the heart for it. Tradition says the earl was devastated after his eldest son Edmund fell to his death down the castle well.
Unfinished maybe – but the castle continued to attract events of national importance. In 1400 Henry Percy (Shakespeare’s Harry Hotspur) held Owain Glyndŵr at bay for more than two years before rising up against the English crown himself.
In 1563 it was granted to the powerful favourite – some say lover – of Queen Elizabeth I, Robert Dudley. The newly created Baron Denbigh and Earl of Leicester made a few minor repairs to the residential parts of the castle.
But he reserved most of his energy for a grandiose scheme to build a church of cathedral-like magnificence inside the town walls.
At the outbreak of the Civil War it was Colonel William Salesbury’s unenviable job to defend the castle for the Royalists. The man they called ‘Hen Hosannau Gleision’, or Old Blue Stockings, held out for six months against overwhelming odds.
Eventually, instructed by King Charles I to surrender, Salesbury and his men marched out with flags flying, drums beating and trumpets sounding. Even their muskets were loaded

Places to see in ( Ruthin - UK )
Ruthin is the county town of Denbighshire in north Wales. Located around a hill in the southern part of the Vale of Clwyd – the older part of the town, the castle and Saint Peter's Square are located on top of the hill, while many newer parts of the town are on the floodplain of the River Clwyd. Ruthin also has villages on the outskirts of the town such as Pwllglas and Rhewl.
The name 'Ruthin' comes from the Welsh words rhudd (red) and din (fort), and refers to the colour of the new red sandstone which forms the geologic basis of the area, and from which the castle was constructed in 1277–84. The original name of Ruthin was 'Castell Coch yng Ngwern-fôr' (red castle in the sea-swamps). The town developed around the castle and the nearby mill. Maen Huail is a registered ancient monument attributed to the brother of Gildas and King Arthur and is located outside Barclays Bank (formerly Exmewe House), on St Peter's Square.
Ruthin has a regular daytime bus service on Mondays to Saturdays, with the last service on most routes leaving between 5.30 and 7.30 pm. The Ruthin railway line and station were closed in the 1960s. Prior to the closure, Ruthin was connected by rail to Denbigh and Rhyl to the north, and Corwen in the south.
Ruthin Gaol ceased to be a prison in 1916 when the prisoners and guards were transferred to Shrewsbury. Ruthin Craft Centre is revenue funded by the Arts Council of Wales and is part of Denbighshire County Council. Nantclwyd y Dre (previously known as Tŷ Nantclwyd), in Castle Street, was built about 1435 by a local merchant Gronw ap Madoc. The building was sold to the county council in 1982, restored from 2004, and opened to the public in 2007.
This is Ruthin's main park area, which includes a children's play area, a lake, walks and picnic area. A skate park was built in 2007 and a zip wire and trim trail added later. The River Clwyd runs through the park. St Peter's Church is the parish church of Ruthin. It is in the diocese of St Asaph.
The Myddleton Arms is also known as the Seven Eyes. It is said to have been built in the 14th century. The Dutch style design, long, steeped roof is attributed to Sir Richard Clough, an Elizabethan merchant. Now flats, the Royal Oak is one of the finest buildings in Ruthin, having three cruck frames, it is a Grade II* listed building.
( Ruthin - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Ruthin . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Ruthin - UK
