Travel | We enjoyed Wollongong from an unexpected day trip😉
Hi guys, in this week's video we will explore Wollongong. The Wollongong trip was not planned but sometimes the unexpected turns out to be the best. And this trip is one of those great spontaneous examples. We had a really good time there, did a 5-6km coastal hike, checked out the lighthouse, enjoyed a lovely seafood meal and admired the coastal view of grand pacific drive from Bald Hill lookout... The trip was super productive. I also had so much fun in climbing sea rocks, talking about fishing boats and cannons... Check out this video and do not forget to like and subscribe. Below is a quick wiki description to give you an intro of Wollongong. If you don't bother to read, just click the link to watch. I will see you next week. Lots of love to you, signing off now xoxo.

Wollongong is a coastal city in Australia, south of Sydney along the Grand Pacific Drive. Surfing beaches and rock pools line the coastline. Trails encircle the forests and rocky cliffs of Mt. Keira in the Illawarra mountain range, which frames the city. To the north, hang gliders launch from Bald Hill. South lie the Buddhist temple of Nan Tien and Lake Illawarra, a large lagoon with boating and fishing facilities.

Mount Kembla | Wollongong Australia
Mount Kembla in Wollongong Australia
Very beautiful place April 2018
Adventurebeatz I Mount Kembla Village I Wollongong I Illawarra NSW Australia
Mount Kembla in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia.
The suburb, a semi-rural township of Wollongong, The satellite localities of Kembla Heights, Windy Gully, Cordeaux Valley and Kembla Village are comprised within the suburb of Mount Kembla.
The summit of Mount Kembla has an elevation of 534 metres (1,752 ft) above sea level.
The area surrounding Mount Kembla is a coal mining area, notable for the Mount Kembla Mine disaster of 1902 in which 96 people lost their lives.
The suburb of Mount Kembla and its associated main village includes a local primary school, church, several hundred houses and the Mount Kembla Hotel, which was built in 1896. The general store/post office closed in 2010, making it the first time in 145 years the village has been without one. The village also has a heritage centre showcasing local history, emphasizing the mining disaster. An annual Heritage Festival and 96 Candles Ceremony, commemorating the victims of the mine disaster, have been performed consistently every year since the disaster.
In addition to mining, Mount Kembla has a significant agricultural history; in particular the Cordeaux Valley area which was one of Australia's top fruit growing industries, exporting as far away as London in its hey day as one of the country's best apples producers.
Mount Kembla is joined to the sandstone cliffs of the Illawarra escarpment, overlooking Wollongong. The summit is 534 metres (1,752 ft) above sea level and is a prominent local landmark, where it has a lookout linked to a 5.5-kilometre (3.4 mi) ring track. The mountain has a unique collection of flora, being the fusing point for northern and southern types of eucalypt growth and containing many types of rainforest.
It also has two orchards on the western slope. American Creek flows down the mountain, past the mine and village. The mountain is a high outcrop of mainly sandstone in a roughly east–west ridge extending from the escarpment to about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to its east. It has a summit plateau divided into two sections, the higher one raised slightly above the west one, forming a small rise at the top.
The ridge descends from the plateau and the mountain is generally quite thin at the top, widening below to create foothills that extend into the outer western suburbs of Wollongong and Unanderra. Many high trees are to be found there and pockets of rainforest grow about Dapto Creek and American Creek. American Creek flows to the north of the mountain from the joint to the escarpment and Dapto Creek from the southern side. A prominent foothill is at its southeast side, which juts out above farmland.
Mount Kembla forms part of the Illawarra Escarpment State Conservation Area, which stretches from Stanwell Park in the north to Wongawilli in the south. The conservation area is managed by the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service.

MOUNT CORDEAUX, Scenic Rim, Quensland, Australia in 4K - Mini 2
The Mini 2 capturing the views a from a summer's pre dawn hike to the peak of Mount Cordeuax.
Mount Cordeaux is a mountain near Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and rises 1,135 m above sea level.
It lies to the immediate north of Cunninghams Gap in the Main Range National Park. It is known to the Aboriginal People as Niamboyoo, however, the meaning is unknown. It appears that early usage on names for the mountain varied, as a 29 September 1897 report in the Warwick Examiner and Times, refers to the well-known Cunningham's Gap, with its twin sentinel peaks, Coonyinirra and Niamboyoo.
In 1927, the mountain was considered 'unclimbable'. Now a series of graded trails leads to a lookout just below the summit, 'Bald Rock' look-out and camp, a Palm Gorge and the Gap Creek Water Fall. From the summit of Mt. Cordeaux other Scenic Rim peaks can be seen, as can the Fassifern Valley below and the Mistake Range to the north east. Walkers should be aware that there are hazardous, sheer cliffs along the tracks.[1]
The first European to discover and name the mountain was Allan Cunningham in 1828. It was named after William Cordeaux who was the assistant to Sir Thomas Mitchell, the Surveyor-General.
Vegetation on the lower parts is mostly rainforest. In higher areas montane heath and grasstrees are found. The giant rock lily grows well on the slopes of Mount Cordeaux. The forest is mostly devoid of large red cedar, hoop pine, carabeen, pigeonberry, tulip oak or purple laurel, as Timber-getters in the early 1900s had harvested most of the area of Cunninghams Gap and Goomburra.
If you visit the national park, leave it the same as when you arrived, pristine !

WARRAGAMBA DAM / AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST URBAN WATER SUPPLY / TOURIST SPOT OF NSW / DAY TRIP FROM SYDNEY
#WarragambaDam
#nswdam
#vanlife
In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford transit campervan, with our dog, to Warragamba Dam - Australia’s largest urban water supply dam. You can free camp a few hundred meters from the Dam.
WARRAGAMBA DAM
Australia’s largest urban water supply dam. Look out at Warragamba Dam and see the past and future of Sydney's water supply. Marvel at this engineering masterpiece as it nestles quietly in native bushland. Delve into the history of the dam builders who labored to create one of the world's largest domestic water supply dams. Look into the future at the interactive 'Water for Life' exhibition. Just a 30-minute drive from Penrith, or one hour from Sydney's CBD.
There are three viewing platforms at the Warragamba Dam Visitor Centre which offer excellent vistas of the upstream dam wall and Lake Burragorang. Pedestrian access to parts of the Warragamba Dam wall is available on weekends and public holidays between 10am and 4pm, except Christmas Day and Good Friday.
Things to do while visiting the Dam:
Stand on one of the viewing platforms and have your photo taken with the 'quiet beast'. Warragamba Dam's nickname comes from the fact that three million tonnes of concrete is holding back four Sydney Harbours of water, yet the atmosphere is calm and peaceful. It was an engineering masterpiece of the mid-20th Century - and it still takes your breath away today.
Soak in the views
Gaze down upon the dam wall and a small part of Lake Burragorang from the deck of the magnificent visitor center, perched high on a rocky outcrop, or head down to the dam wall on weekends and public holidays ONLY for a close-up view of the Lake. The lake created by the dam stretches back 52 kilometers from the wall. Nearby, Eighteenth Street Lookout provides the best view of the dam wall height and auxiliary spillway.
Step into the future
Step inside the modern visitor center and enjoy a better view of the dam. Take a journey through the water cycle in the 'Water for Life' exhibition. Be amazed by the unique 'drops of wisdom' interactive table.
Relax with a picnic on the grounds outside the Visitors Centre
Eighteenth Street Warragamba
A few minutes' drive from the dam through the Warragamba township, the Eighteenth Street Lookout provides a view of the auxiliary spillway and a distant view of the Warragamba Dam wall. Open daily from 10am to 5pm.
