Located about 6400 ft above mean sea level, Mullayangiri is the tallest peak of Karnataka State. There is a temple at top of the summit.
While coming down from Mullayangiri take some time to stop over at a small quite temple dedicated to Seethala Mallikarjuna Swamy or Lord Shiva.
From Seethalayana and enroute to Baba Budangiri, I took a break at the Honnamana Halla Falls. Good place for kids to play around in chilled water and also good for clicking some pics.
From the curvy roads to scenic avenue, Baba Budangiri is abode to the man who brought coffee to India. It has shrine named after Sufi saint Baba Budan, who is revered by both Muslims and Hindus.
Just 7 kms ahead of Baba Budangiri there is a beautiful all season waterfalls called Manikyadhara. When sunlight falls on Manikyadhara, water droplets appear like sparkling pearls.
Gaalikere is part of Baba Budangiri travel circuit. It is located about 6 kms from Baba Budangiri shrine.
On the way back from Baba Budangiri and towards Chikkamagaluru, don’t miss to visit Jhari waterfalls also called Buttermilk water falls.
Next day, got up and headed towards ancient city named Amruthapura which is 67 kms from Chikkamagaluru. Amruthapura is famous for architecturally amazing Hoysala temple of the 12th century, named Amrutheshwara Temple.
On the way back from Amruthapura, visited Ayyankere Lake which is about 23 kms from Chikkamagaluru. Ayyankere is Karnataka’s second biggest lake and is one place you should not miss. .
Coffee Museum acquaints you not only with the history but also makes you aware of the technological aspects of coffee plantations.
Post all my learnings about coffee processing, next I headed to ancient Kodandarama Temple at Hiremagaluru. Original structure of this temple is 1200 years old and the overall structure of this temple has the signatures of the Cholas, Hoysalas and Vijayanagar dynasties.
Amidst all the lush greenery and mountain ranges, a calm and serene lake called Hirekolale Lake is present at the foothills of Mullayanagiri Hills.

चिकमगलूर में घूमने वाली जगह कुद्रेमुख नेशनल पार्क पहाड़ों के बीच में स्थित एक आकर्षित पर्यटन स्थल है। वर्ष 1987 में इसे राष्ट्रीय उद्यान का दर्जा दिया गया था। इसका क्षेत्रफल लगभग 600 किलोमीटर का वर्ग के क्षेत्र में फैला हुआ है। कुद्रेमुख नेशनल पार्क कर्नाटक राज्य के सबसे संरक्षित राष्ट्रीय उद्यानों में शामिल हैं। बाघ, तेंदुए और जंगली कुत्तो सहित कई जानवर यहां देखे जा सकते हैं।

चिकमगलूर का मशहूर झारी झारना जिसे “बटरमिल्क फॉल्स” के नाम से भी जाना जाता हैं। बाबा बुदनगिरी से 12 किलोमीटर के अन्तराल पर अत्तिगुंडी के निकट स्थित हैं। यह वाटर फाल्स जिले के सबसे अच्छे पर्यटन स्थल में से एक हैं। विशाल घने जंगल में स्थित इस स्थान के आसपास कॉपी बागान भी हैं।
7 चिकमगलूर का दर्शनीय स्थल इनम दत्तात्रेय पीठ –
चिकमगलूर का प्रसिद्ध स्थल इनम दत्तात्रेय पीठ बुदन गिरि हिल्स पर स्थित हैं। इस धार्मिक स्थल पर हिंदू और मुस्लिम धर्म के अनुयाई सामान रूप से आते हैं। माना जाता हैं कि इस गुफा में गुरु दत्तात्रेय और हजरत दादा हयात मीर खलदार का आश्रय स्थान था।

चिकमगलूर में घूमने वाली जगह में भद्रा वन्यजीव अभयारण्य चिकमगलूर से लगभग 38 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित हैं। यह पर्यटक स्थल 490 वर्ग किलोमीटर के क्षेत्र को घेरे हुए है और सुंदर-सुंदर पहाड़ियों के साथ-साथ बर्फ से ढकी चोटियों से सुसज्जित इस स्थान की यात्रा करना अपने आप में एक सुखद अनुभव होता है।
9 चिकमगलूर के पर्यटन स्थल हिरेकोले झील –
चिकमगलूर में घूमने वाली जगह में हिरेकोले झील एक मानव निर्मित झील है। चिकमगलूर का यह पर्यटन स्थल चिकमगलूर से 10 किलोमीटर और केम्मनगुंडी से 50 किलोमीटर के अन्तराल पर है। इस स्थान पर कर्नाटक राज्य कि सबसे ऊँची चोटी को देखना अति- सुखद होता है। इस झील को निर्मित करने के पीछे एक जन कल्याणकारी उद्देश्य पूरे गांव को पानी कि आपूर्ति कराना ओर सिचाई के लिए पानी कि पूर्ती करना था।

चिकमगलूर के धार्मिक स्थलों में बेलवाडी मशहूर स्थान है। बेलावाडी चिकमगलूर शहर से लगभग 29 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित एक छोटा सा सुंदर गांव हैं। बेलवाड़ी गांव का दर्शनीय वीर नारायण मंदिर इस स्थान की प्रसिधी को और अधिक बढ़ा देता हैं। यह स्थान कई मायनो में ऐतिहासिक महत्व का भी है।
