Exploring Burwood Chinatown & Town Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Burwood is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of Municipality of Burwood.
Burwood has a mixture of residential, commercial, and light industrial developments. The main shopping strip runs along Burwood Road, beside Burwood railway station. Westfield Burwood is a large regional shopping centre, north of the railway line, on Burwood Road opposite Burwood Park. Burwood Plaza is a smaller shopping centre on Railway Parade, south of the railway line. Burwood Chinatown (traditional Chinese: 寶活中國城; simplified Chinese: 宝活中国城; Cantonese Yale: Bóuwuht Jūnggwoksìng; pinyin: Bǎohuó Zhōngguóchéng) is an arcade connecting Burwood Plaza to Burwood Road, formerly named Murray Arcade.
High rise residential and commercial buildings are also found in surrounding streets and along the railway line. Commercial and light industrial developments are located along Parramatta Road.

Once a hidden gem of the Yarra Valley, the Warburton Redwood Forest is now a major tourist attraction and one of the best day trips from Melbourne.

The World's Most Famous Picnic Spot
Welcome to the Macedon Ranges, home to one of the world's most famous picnic spots - Hanging Rock.
Rumoured to have been the haunt of bushranger 'Mad Dog' Morgan, this small extinct volcano (or mamelon) was formed by an upheaval of lava millions of years ago. It was made famous by the classic Australian novel and later movie Picnic at Hanging Rock, the mythic tale of the Valentine's Day disappearance of a group of schoolgirls and their teacher while visiting Hanging Rock in 1901. The legend endures, and an air of mystery and intrigue still lingers.
The mound of massive granite tors is riddled with caves, tunnels and overhanging boulders, its shapes and acoustic echoes enhancing its already spooky reputation making it an ideal hiking destination with the views from the top well worth the walk.
Surrounded by breath-taking natural scenery, expansive forests and heritage gardens, the Macedon Ranges regions has the sights, sounds, smells and tastes to satisfy every sense - and best of fall, it's only an hour from Melbourne.

I used to come here a lot and shop at Burwood One Shopping Centre. It's a few stops from Deakin University so it was convenient for me after I finish studying at the library.
Burwood East is 17km east of Melbourne CBD. You can get here by bus but if you come from the city, it is probably convenient to catch the tram route 75 on Flinders Street in the CBD to here. This tram line is one of the longest covering a number of suburbs. Tram 75 terminates or starts at Vermont South/Vermont South Shopping Centre.
K-Mart is one of my favourite places to shop. You can buy things with reasonable quality at very affordable prices.

We start our walk on Burwood Road close to Burwood Train Station towards Burwood Park where we turn around to explore both side of this busy road. We can see the entrance of Westfield Shopping Centre which is a large regional shopping centre opposite to Burwood Park. We continue our walk along Burwood Road up to Clarence Street passing the train station. We finish our walk in Burwood Chinatown packed with street food restaurants. The street lightning and decoration make it more vibrant and exciting.

Burwood is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre for the local government area of Municipality of Burwood.
In the 2016 census, there were 16,030 residents in the suburb of Burwood, 25.0% of whom were born in Australia. The most common countries and region of birth were China (excluding SARs and Taiwan) 34.5%, India 3.8%, South Korea 3.4%, Nepal 3.0% and Hong Kong (SAR of China) 2.8%. In Burwood, 20.1% of people only spoke English at home. Other languages spoken at home included Mandarin 34.0%, Cantonese 11.7%, Korean 3.7%, Nepali 3.0% and Italian 2.2%.
Burwood Chinatown is a commonplace where the city inhabitants connect, engage and relax. In the earlier years of 2000, Burwood Chinatown organically filtered through Murray Arcade and extended to 25 shops operating in the area. In the following years, Murray Arcade witnessed the growth of the Chinese community and paved its way to the future transformation. As a part of the revitalisation program in 2016, Murray Arcade, surrounded by Burwood's high density apartments, aspired to create one common area for inhabitants to engage, enjoy and improve their overall wellbeing.
In the year of 2017, the transformation into Burwood Chinatown aims to create a lively hawker market with over 50 specialty shops. By 2018, Burwood Chinatown evolved into an urban pantry and vibrant eat street from day to night, attracting food lovers from all over Sydney. Burwood Chinatown succeeded in making a strong presence on major social media platforms and publishers by 2019. In 2020, During the COVID-19 crisis, Burwood Chinatown focused on offering a clean, vibrant and welcoming environment for all customers, workers and shop owners. Burwood Chinatown is now under a plan of expansion into a two-story centre, with more eateries and retail stores to come. Burwood Chinatown is located on Burwood Road across Burwood railway station.
