In this video we are going to walk around Veracruz taking you to the zocalo and down to the malecon where we learn about the history of Veracruz through it’s many buildings, such as the fort, Fuerte de San Juan de Ulúa and the oldest cafe in Veracruz, El Gran Cafe de la Parroquia where we will sip on it’s specialty Cafe Lechero! Of course we make time for a seafood lunch as Veracruz Mexico is known for their seafood dishes as well as take you down to the Aquarium and to check out the Veracruz beaches.

Alrighty fellow Travel Dons, we have made it to Veracruz, Mexico. Come along with me on this particular journey as I meet up with a local Chef and Musician as they take through the historic streets of Veracruz to sample the local flavors and see some historical sites.
Veracruz is the original capitol of Mexico and the home of Mexico's Naval headquarters. With such a connection to the sea iti sno wonder that Verazcruz is known as one of the best places in Mexico for seafood. Ceviche being one of the most popular items on the menus.
Joining me on this particular journey is a local Chef named Ruth Quetzalli. She is classically trained and owns a Crepe shop on the South end named for her daughter. Adan is a local musician who grew up in veracruz but, has traveled to play gigs throughout Mexico. Specifically, Mexico City and Cancun. Conocer Veracruz fue sin duda una sorpresa, a pesar de que no tenia ninguna expectativa la idea que tenia del lugar era otra y fue maravilloso descubrir un lugar lleno de vida y riqueza cultural.
TIPS VIAJEROS
* Cuando vayas a el Fuerte de San Juan Ulúa, lleva paraguas el sol pega muy fuerte y la temperatura es muy alta, haz el tour lo más temprano que puedas y contrata un guía son de aportación voluntaria.
* Conoce el Zócalo de noche, es cuando se pone mejor el ambiente.
* No dejes de pasear por Boca de Río
* Lleva ropa ligera, protector solar y repelente de mosquitos.
* No existe uber así que antes de subirte a un taxi pregunta los precios e intenta negociar un costo justo.
* Prueba los helados tradicionales Güero Güera.
* Los Domingos en el restaurant Villa Rica del Zócalo hay buffet.
DONDE HOSPEDARSE
La mejor zona para hospedarte es Boca del Río, hay hoteles que no tiene vista al mar si planeas estar poco tiempo en el hotel, suelen ser una buena opción.
QUE COMER
La comida tradicional de Veracruz son por supuesto los mariscos uno de sus platillos más famosos es el arroz a la tumbada, que es arroz con una gran variedad de mariscos, también puedes probar las picadas, Pescado a la Veracruzana, entre otros más. La gastronomía Veracruzana es muy basta así que no tendrás ningún problema con esto.

Mexico Bus Travel - A Wild Bumpy Ride : Boca del Rio, Veracruz
With no suspension, I had to hang on as this old bus threw me around on a wild bumpy ride. Sometimes bus travel within the cities and towns of Mexico can be a real adventure.
Being six foot four, my legs don't fit into most of the seats on these old rickety urban buses. So I have to sit in the very back where there is a row of seats where I can stretch out my legs. However, that is THE WORST place to sit when the bus has no suspension. Every big bump in the road threw me into the air as we traveled the residential streets of Boca del Rio, in Veracruz, Mexico.
