झज्जर दिल्ली से लगभग 65 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। इसकी स्थापना छज्जु नाम के एक किसान ने की थी। पहले इसका नाम 'छज्जु नगर' था लेकिन बाद में यह झज्जर हो गया। इसके अलावा यहां की झज्ज्री (सुराही) बहुत मशहूर थी तो भी इसका नाम झज्जर पडा। झज्जर के दो मुख्य शहर बहादुरगढ़ और बेरी है। बहादुरगढ़ की स्थापना राठी जाटों ने की थी। पहले बहादुरगढ़ को सर्राफाबाद के नाम से जाना जाता था। पिछले दिनों बहादुरगढ़ का तेजी से औद्योगिकरण हुआ है। बेरी इसका दूसरा मुख्य शहर है। पहले झज्जर रोहतक जिले का एक हिस्सा, इसे बाद में इससे अलग कर दिया गया था और 15 जुलाई 1997 को एक जिला बना दिया गया था। झज्जर के पास रहने के लिए आवश्यक सभी चीजें हैं। दिल्ली और गुड़गांव के करीब होने के कारण भी झज्जर मे पर्यटन का महत्व काफी बढ़ जाता है।

Bhindawas Bird Sanctuary
It was established as a Bird Sanctuary by the Government of India in 3rd June, 2009. Constructed to store the excess waters of the Jawaharlal Nehru canal at the time of power failure of Lift Canal System, the Sanctuary is spread over an area of 1074 acres. There are many reasons to visit Bhindawas, the main one being is, one can see acres of yellow mustard fields along the road to this wetland, also one can spot innumerable species of water birds flock near a canal long before reach the sanctuary. And, finally, a trip here does not involve too much walking. A 12 km vehicle track goes all around the lake.
Due to the water problem at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary in Rajasthan, over the past years, the sanctuary has become more ecologically important and made Bhindawas Bird sanctuary’s lake as their alternate site to a number of migratory water birds. More than 30,000 variety of migratory birds belonging to over 250 species and resident birds visit Bhindawas Bird Sanctuary through the year. The number dips during the summer and picks up during the winter. Situated along the Jhajjar-Dadri approach road, there are small islands within the lake.

SHEESH MAHAL FARRUKHNAGAR | शीश महल फर्रुखनगर | HARYANA TOURISM | PMC CREATION
हरियाणा के गुड़गांव जिले में स्थित फारुखनगर वैसे तो महज एक छोटा-सा कस्बा है, लेकिन इतिहास पन्नों पर इसका बहुत महत्व है। फारुखनगर की स्थापना का श्रेय मुगलशासक फौजदार खान को जाता है। इस मुगलशासक ने अपने शासन के दौरान कई ऐतिहासिक इमारतों का निर्माण कराया। फौजदार खान द्वारा बनवाई गई ऐतिहासिक धरोहरों में से एक है यहां का शीश महल। शहर के बीचों-बीच बने इस शीश महल का निर्माण सन् 1711 में हुआ था।
शीश महल तीन ओर 2 मंजिला इमारतों जिनमे कई कमरे हैं , से घिरा है उसके उत्तरी तरफ किसी घर की दीवारे हैं । ये खंडहर जो किले के अंदर बना है फारुख सियार ने अपनी रानी के लिए बनवाया था इसके नीचे एक ख़ुफ़िया सुरंग भी है जो किले के बाहर कुछ दूर एक बाउली में खुलती है जहाँ रानी रोज स्नान के लिए जाती थी
हरियाणा में गुड़गांव से 20 किलोमीटर दूर फर्रुखनगर को फर्रुखसियर के कमांडर मोहम्मद फौजदार खान ने बसाया था। मुगल बादशाह मोहम्मद शाह रंगीला ने फौजदार खान को फारुखनगर का नवाब बनाया था। भरतपुर के महाराज ने 1757 में फारुखनगर पर हमला किया और यह कस्बा सात साल तक उसके कब्जे में रहा। बाद में बादशाह शाह आलम के वजीर गाजीउद्दीन ने नवाब को फारुखनगर वापस दिलाया।
