10 Most Hated Towns in England
What are the most hated towns in England? No matter how good a country is, every part of it can’t be loved equally. In fact, some parts of it are bound to be hated. Even the most fanatic lover of a country will love some parts of it less than others. I have heard some people complaining about some towns in England, the home of the Queen that some people are dying to live and work in. That prompts research into the 10 most hated towns in England.
This ranking is based mainly on the comments and complaints of residents of England and visitors to those towns. But it’s not limited to that since some complaints can be completely baseless. We dig deeper in researching these 10 most hated towns in England.
10. Slough
Let’s begin with Slough, a town in Berkshire, within the historic county of Buckinghamshire. This town is 20 miles west of central London and 19 miles northeast of Reading. You will find the town in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolis around the area at the intersection of the M4.
In spite of its location, Slough according to those visitors, is a town whose streets are littered with empty takeaway and full of packets or empty beer cans. This assertion hasn’t been contradicted by even just one resident. The quality of food in the town’s restaurants appears, kind of, made for losers who’re just out to eat as much unhealthy food as they can get away with.
9. Scunthorpe
It’s not desirable to find Scunthorpe among the most hated towns in England. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to take it out of our list because the facts obviously place it there. This industrial town in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire should normally be the pride of Lincolnshire as its main administrative center. But the town with an estimated population of 82,334 in 2016 had many things going against it.
Residents of the UK’s largest steel processing center, also known as the Industrial Garden Town, are frustrated by a lack of the liveliness and diversity in the town only known for work. However, the loudest grouse that lists Scunthorpe alongside the most hated towns in England is the indiscriminate censorship and blocking of websites for spurious reasons.

If you are in the area, this is a nice place to visit. The famous Singing Ringing Tree sculpture is worth the visit, but it gets very busy, so it can be difficult to take photos.

Killer Walk A Rossendale Ramble
In this video i go out with the local ramblers on what is supposed to be a two hour walk covering about 3 miles, however the leader was new to leading and miss judged the length and time to complete the walk. The result being I walked for almost 3 hours non stop and covered almost 6 mile, bearing in mind it was the first time i had been walking for almost 2 years. We parked on the pub carpark that most folk where going back to for a bite to eat afterwards, then walked almost a mile through the town centre before reaching the lane that was going to take us into the countryside. We walked up the lane that was a1 in 10 gradient and was almost a mile longa, after reaching the top we negotiated muddy paths passed by forests and climbed further up into the country side before eventually coming back down a very steep hilll that had my toes slipping very painfully into the front of my my boot's.

Rivington Pike Lancashire - A Monster Calls Filming Location 4K Drone Video
Rivington is a village and civil parish of the Borough of Chorley, Lancashire, England, occupying 2,538 acres (4.0 sq mi; 10.3 km2). It is about 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of Chorley and about 8 1⁄2 miles (13.7 km) northwest of Bolton.[1] Rivington is a rural area consisting primarily of agricultural grazing land, moorland, with hill summits including Rivington Pike and Winter Hill within the West Pennine Moors. The area has a thriving tourist industry centred around reservoirs created to serve Liverpool in the Victorian era and Lever Park created as a public park by William Lever at the turn of the 20th century, with two ancient barns, a replica of Liverpool Castle and open countryside. Rivington and its village had a population of 109 at the 2011 Census. The name Rivington is made up of three elements: riv is from the Old English hrēof meaning rough or rugged; ing is a place name forming suffix that seems to have crept in over the years; the last is the Old English tūn meaning a farmstead, estate or settlement.[4][5] Together they indicate a farmstead or settlement at the rough or rugged place. Another suggestion is a place at the rowan trees.Rivington Pike is a hill on Winter Hill, part of the West Pennine Moors at Rivington, Chorley in Lancashire, England. The nearest towns are Adlington and Horwich. The Pike Tower is a prominent local landmark and is located at the summit. The area is popular with hill walkers and for mountain biking
Rivington was recorded in many ways in earlier centuries, Rowinton, Rawinton, and Revington were used in 1202; Ruhwinton in 1212, Riuiton in 1226, Rowynton and Rouynton in 1278, Roynton in 1332, Rouyngton in 1400, Revyngton although rare, and Rovington and Ryvington from the 16th century.A Neolithic or Bronze Age stone, with a cup and ring mark dating from between 2000 and 3000 BC, was found near the Lower Rivington Reservoir in 1999.[8] It is possible that settlements have existed in the area around Rivington since the Bronze Age.[9] Arrowheads, a flint knife, scrapers and the remains of cremations were excavated from a Bronze Age cairn at Noon Hill in 1958 and 1963–64.[10] It is possible that the name Coblowe on the eastern bank of the Lower Rivington Reservoir derives from the Old English hlaw, a hill, which denoted an ancient barrow or burial place.[11] Evidence for the existence of a settlement here in Anglo-Saxon times is found in the Rivington and Coblowe names.Rivington was dramatically changed by the construction of the Rivington Reservoir Chain, part of the 10,000 acre Rivington watershed,[20] built to provide Liverpool with a safe, clean water supply. Nine properties in the valley were demolished before construction work began. The Rivington Pike Scheme, still in use today, was undertaken by Thomas Hawksley between 1850 and 1857, requiring Liverpool Corporation to purchase large areas of occupied land within the Rivington valley. The scheme was to construct five reservoirs and a water treatment works at the south end of Lower Rivington with a 17-mile (27 km) pipeline to storage reservoirs at Prescot. Water from two higher level reservoirs, Rake Brook and Lower Roddlesworth, was carried south in the Goit, a man-made channel connecting them to the lower reservoirs. In 1900 Liverpool Corporation attempted to acquire the entire area of Rivington to safeguard its water supply, and proposed demolishing the entire village

Snow Fall Walk | Walking In The Snow - 1808 Victorian Park | Stubbylee Bacup 4k #snowfall
If you enjoy this relaxing walk, please leave a comment..always interested in what you think of these walks and tours! Stubbylee and Moorlands Park is set in beautiful English countryside. It is a haven of peace and beauty, but with surprising sights around each corner. The Stubbylee mansion was built in 1808 of stone about half a mile from the populous town of Bacup. The hall includes a centre porch of Ionic engaged columns, flanking curved bays, and a domed staircase. James Maden Holt occupied the hall until his death in 1911 and bequeathed Stubbylee Hall and grounds to Bacup.

The Beautiful Wycoller Country Park & Village Walk | English Countryside | 4K
If you enjoy this relaxing walk, please leave a comment..always interested in what you think of these walks and tours! I set off walking from the Atom - Panopticon and drop down into Wycoller Country Park. You can see the acient stone walls, which date back from the 13th and 14th century. This walk has abit of everything involving nature, such as the beautiful greenery, bird song, spring lambs and rabbits if you look closely! I also take a wonder around the ancient village of Wycoller and its ruins. Wycoller village may date back to the 10th century BC. Central to the village are the ruins of 16th-century Wycoller Hall. Various ancient bridges cross Wycoller Beck, including 'Pack-Horse Bridge', a twin arched bridge in the centre of the village, 'Clapper Bridge' (also known as Hall Bridge) and 'Clam Bridge' (also known as Bank House Bridge). The last is believed to be of neolithic origin (possibly 6000 years old) and is listed as an ancient monument. It consists of just a long stone laid across the river.

Healey Dell Nature Reserve|| പ്രകൃതിയും ചരിത്രവും സമ്മേളിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം|| Vlog#105
Healey Dell Nature Reserve is located at Rochdale, the first industrialised town in the world. A site that offers a stunning mix of nature, history and industrial archaeology, this hidden gem is a must visit. As one explores the amazing landscape with the River Spodden winding its way through the woodlands, one can't help feel the uniqueness of the place. Delightful sceneries, including some lovely cascades, a 160 year old viaduct are some of the spectacular sights that await us in this little town.
But, don't be fooled by its sleepy looks - it was here that some of the oldest corn, wool and cotton mills stood. As you negotiate the tricky pathways leading to the river, you will come across some remnants of those mills. They might be nothing more than some abandoned slabs for a casual onlooker. But for a connoisseur of history, these are indicators of a rich past.
River Spodden would have been flowing thus for centuries now - it has witnessed many changes in the course of time - the place growing into an industrial hub, a hidden ammunition factory and now everything reclaimed by nature.
One of the most beautiful sights is a disused 1860s railway line. It is now a nature trail that offers magnificent views from a viaduct that is over 100 feet in height. The viaduct is a delight to watch and one feels small and humbled as one gazes up at it.
Healey Dell has much to offer for the visitors. It is the best place to go on a stroll with family, explore bird and wildlife, enjoy a tryst with history and much more. The place itself is like a hidden gem and within it Healy Dell holds many more charming sights and experiences.
We were in a high when we finally got to see the 'White throated Dipper', a bird that has been on our wish list ever since we came to the UK. Moments like these are precious and priceless. One cannot really put it in words. It has to be experienced.
There is nothing like the happiness one feels when connected with nature. You don't need anything. Just a few moments of sighting a bird is enough to fill your heart and soul with boundless joy. That's what we experienced at Healey Dell. That's what we hope all our viewers will get to experience.
