5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe

Grab some of our gear

Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching!

Grab a Wolters World Shirt

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here

Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

8 Reasons Why Americans LEAVE Costa Rica [Why I Left]

The TRUTH about living in Costa Rica: Why do so many Americans leave Costa Rica after moving there? In this video, I explain what causes expats to change their minds about retiring abroad and why I left Costa Rica after 8 years. Some of the initial reasons that people want to move to Costa Rica include the moderate climate, laid back lifestyle, fresh and healthy food, friendly people, beaches, medical tourism, and the low cost of living. But is Costa Rica really a safe and friendly country or is it actually dangerous and expensive? Once they arrive, many people realize that living in Costa Rica wasn't quite what they expected. Unfortunately, that results in people returning home quite soon after arriving.

After helping more than 500 foreigners move to Costa Rica and living there for eight years, this video explains the top reasons why people move back to the USA and why I left, too, so that you know more about what to expect BEFORE you get there. This is the real and sometimes dark truth about living in Costa Rica. What do you think are the biggest pros and cons of living in Costa Rica? Let us know in the comments.

WASHINGTON: ANTHONY'S TOP 10 THINGS TO DO FOR FUTURE BREWERS ROAD TRIP THERE | Ep. 60: Game Plan 11

MASSIVE thanks to David Maraniss for joining us and surprising Anthony!
Pulitzer-winning author and reporter:
Associate editor of the Washington Post:

History. A deep dive into the story of America, in the place where so much of our history has been formed. Oh, and a Brewers game at the home of the current world champs! There are SO MANY THINGS to do in our nation's capital that we couldn't just do Top 5's. So we gave it the L.A. treatment and we're doing 10's for the city's attractions.

NOTE: Some of the spots on Anthony's list include monuments to some of our earliest presidents, but we've become more aware of how they owned slaves. To be clear: We abhor racism of any kind, and we encourage discussion within your families, friends & personal circles of influence to discern what should be the right way to recognize the life decisions of the people who formed our country.

Having been to Washington, D.C. twice to cover Stars and Stripes Honor Flight trips, we encourage you to donate generously to this special charity that gives America's veterans a day of a lifetime:

Our daddy-and-son thing is taking Brewers road trips, exploring, learning & having fun doing it! Just not during the COVID-19 pandemic. But since we can't travel, we can game plan future travels for all the cities with the 19 stadiums where little man hasn't seen Brewers games.

So, we're doing The Game Plan, a new series with the top 5 attractions and top 5 restaurants we want to check out in each city.

It's to help you start your game planning for when we all CAN travel!

COMMENT:
- What do YOU love to do in our nation's capital?

NOTE: Please stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic, but try and help small businesses like local restaurants with delivery & take out!

(All business mentions are unsolicited and unpaid.)

Anthony's picks:
- Capitol
- Jefferson Memorial
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial
- Lincoln Memorial
- National Archives Museum
- Nationals Park
- Smithsonian National Zoological Park
- Supreme Court
- Washington Monument
- White House
