Drive through Southern Coast of South Africa. A perfect Garden Route road trip along coastal line of South Africa. This South Africa travel series covers the key destinations starting from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
South Africa also follow left hand driving, so driving was quite easy. The road following the coast line is extremely good and people in general drive safe and slow inside the towns and colonies. Our Indian driving license was good enough to rent a car from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. We dropped it in Cape town before taking the flight from there. But yes, just to be little more relaxed we did purchase insurance for any damage to the car.

Footprints in the sand - Mossel Bay
Mosselbaai (Mossel Bay in Afrikaans) it's a small coastal town in the famous Garden Route area in the southern part of South Africa and a tourist haven with lots to see and do. Although it is today best known as the place at which the first Europeans landed on South African soil (Bartolomeu Dias and his crew arrived on 3 February 1488), Mossel Bay’s human history can - as local archaeological deposits have revealed - be traced back more than 164,000 years.
The 13.5 km St. Blaize Hiking Trail which is a spectacular cliff walk following a contour 30 meters above the sea. It is one directional and leaves from the cave at Cape St. Blaize lighthouse, The Point, Mossel Bay or from Malva Road in Dana Bay. It takes about 5-6 hours of moderate walking.This trail is excellent for whale viewing in season and rugged coastal scenery and vegetation.
